Okay, so as much as I love Lost, I have to complain a little bit.

The fans are OBNOXIOUS. (At least the ones I deal with.)

I've been following the webmaze for quite a while... and seriously... I'm just annoyed at them.
1) They all say "lol" all too often. No capitalization.
2) They like to take credit for all the work, so they post things without telling how the hell they got there.
3) Whenever they post and say somebody's username, they HAVE to put in in bold.
4) One of them posts unrelated images to get a "laugh" out of people. They take up the whole screen. I want to stab that person.
5) One person acted better than everybody else since they got contacted by the writers and got information. I guess that can be jealousy, but man, they were annoying to begin with.
5a) A part of the webmaze turned out to be a fraud. This person FREAKED THE FUCK OUT AND STOPPED POSTING FOR A BIT. Seriously, get over it.
6) They have their own clique going. I post rarely, usually when I have something to contribute, but when they do, they act suprised that I even exist. People even say "Welcome!" when I've already participated.
7) There was a chat set up by some of the producers/writers/whatever. At 4, 8, 15, 16, 23, 42 minutes past the hour, different things happened. Most of it was reversing the sent text, but at 16 (IIRC) everybody was forced to say "BORK!" or something like that. Now everybody uses it for something. IT HAS LOST IT'S CHARM. To use a phrase I hate: "old meme."
8) A replacement chat was set up, when the original chat went down. Whoever set it up set emoticons for like every other word.
9) Not a problem with them, but they all live on the east coast so they do all the work while I am at school.

EEEEEEEEEEEEUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUURRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. I need to set up my own private Lost webmaze discussion group.

What the hell is with the Tech department in our school? Cheryl complained about all these points:

Spyware
Does something called anti-spyware software ring a bell?

Windows Messenger
A quick Google search reveals there are quite a few ways to remove Windows Messenger. Cheryl said that they are "working on a way", and I'm not sure what they could be really working ON.

One person to a computer
This is the one that makes the least amount of sense. She said stuff about private information, but what information is REALLY that sensitive? I can think of SEVERAL situations where it's okay and when it might be a problem...

The first is helping another person do something on the computer. I've gotten kicked out for helping Lily King crop and place a photo for Yearbook. HELPING SOMEONE ELSE. We were right in front of Cheryl's desk, and yet she still decided to. Upon explaining, she said the "rules are rules", and then Lily complained. Yesss.

Research, but I don't know if anybody has been kicked out for that sort of thing.

Obviously, just showing somebody something. If they are doing it quietly and non-problematic, is that really a problem?

Letting someone borrow a computer COULD be a problem, and most of the time, shouldn't be. Say you are using a computer, and a friend wants to print something out without having to go through the process of logging on. Would it really be a problem if you were RIGHT THERE, and seeing what they are doing? Wouldn't it be your responsibility to make sure they are doing what they said they were doing? It might be different if you weren't there, because if somebody were using your account and doing things that aren't okay, then that's a problem. But otherwise, if you are there watching them, then I really don't have a problem with that.

There's also the possibility of kids being rowdy and messing with other people's computers, but if some teacher is there, then obviously they can be told to calm down.

If there is a huge crowd in the computer lab, then it also could be a problem, but wouldn't a simple "the computer lab is too crowded, could those who don't need to be in here leave" work? People might not listen if the teacher/faculty isn't really nice, but if someone was reasonable and not demanding about it, I personally would listen.

Logging off when you leave the room
I completely understand this one, actually. If you have to leave the room for a bit, somebody might need to use the computer. But if there are NO OTHER PEOPLE in the computer lab, then should they really be logged off? Of course, they should tell Cheryl what they are doing, and if that takes too long (or if the person doesn't say anything and doesn't come back for a bit), then it might be a little more appropriate to log them off.

Okay, now I get to complain.

Conservation
So, I hear we're trying to save paper? What about saving ink on the print outs that Cheryl does? How is a background of a DARK theatre going to help portray the message that if you missed the lab orientation, that you should come at this date?

Privacy
I find it funny that even when Cheryl says that account information is private, she still reads our emails over our shoulders. DO YOU CALL THAT PRIVACY?

...
I HOPE NOT.
